Remember you have all taught me about generosity, and celebration, and your birthday traditions. I hope I have taught you about a love for all creatures.
Process:
As a group, reflect on the discussions, experience and resources of the Friday assembly theme of kindness.
As large groups within your course areas, consider the life skills that you now have and can share with others. Perhaps you are even learning something from helping in the kitchen!
Form a group which includes a mix of students from each of our three courses. Groups must have a minimum of three students and a maximum of 6.
Decide in your group who might like to share a new skill from their course. Consider the possibilities of topics - these are just some possibilities!
Note the theme in each of the above examples is a simple skill that aids in household management and family well-being. Choose something you feel confident your knowledge and skillset can assist others with. As you consider a topic, think about how you will divide up the work required to create, record and share your experience.
Decide who in your group wishes to be the instructor(s) for this exercise and who wishes to participate as learners. Team teaching is encouraged.
Brainstorm on your topic, your script, your means of recording and sharing your lesson for others and how you can use your skills and knowledge to pay it forward.
We will upload the videos to YouTube and add links to the SVEC school website
You will also create an audio clip to broadcast your idea and success story on the Lyantonde radio station.
The video recorder and camera are available for you to sign out from the Guild Office.
The computer lab is open after hours and weekends.
Submission requirements:
Action plan of who the team members are and their roles
Outline of the project – what the idea is, how it connects to our Kindness Revolution, what do you need to undertake the project, who the outcome can help
A digital story or report of your workshop – I suggest you narrate with a well considered script written by both the instructor(s) and the students.
Mp4 file for video/digital story no larger than 12 MB. Upload this to YouTube and send me the link.
Mp3 file for radio broadcast no longer than 3 minutes. We will provide this to Radio Lyantonde to promote our Kindness Revolution for the April Open House.
Refer to the assessment rubric below as you plan and execute your ideas. Please check in with Kelly to log your team and idea.
